On a hectic day in a Covid war room, primary school teacher and volunteer, Sangeetha Waghmare receives a phone call that opens up a painful chapter from her past. Presented with an opportunity to take justice into her own hands, does she resist that temptation? A young couple's relationship is unexpectedly jeopardised when one partner finds herself out of a job in the midst of the pandemic. The strain it puts on them makes them reevaluate their marriage and their world. A ragtag trio of thieves steal a truck full of electronic appliances and hide out in an abandoned factory. But their chances of escape are foiled when a strict lockdown is enforced. Delivery agent Rohan Sahota, gets an ultimatum from his boss to get a 5 star rating or lose his job. But destiny fails him when a precious parcel that he is carrying gets destroyed. Rohan and his wife, Geeta are left to come up with an impossible way to rescue themselves out of the situation. Vikas Chavan, an essential services worker at a cremation ground is given an ultimatum by his landlord to vacate his room. With nowhere to go, Vikas and his young son take shelter at the cremation ground while he nervously awaits news on his COVID+ father’s health from the local hospital.

A Covid war room. Fielding up to 300 calls a day, staying calm and doling out advice and information to panic stricken callers. Sangeetha Waghmare- 45 expertly fields questions from alarmed relatives of Covid patients, organising hospital beds. Sangeetha bounces from call to call, a pillar of strength to anyone who calls. She gets a call from a young man stating that his father has tested positive and is looking for a bed. Sangeetha seems rattled when she hears the patient’s name.    She calls her lawyer to learn that he’d been released from jail as a result of crowded prisons during the pandemic. His crime was an alleged abetment of suicide of an 18 year old college student named Uday- Sangeetha’s son. Tense moments go by with her fielding calls. The son calls again. Sensing an opportunity to stay in control, she gives her number to the son, and tells him to call her directly.  Meanwhile her lawyer calls back. She realises that neither the lawyer, nor the system is capable of giving her justice. Back at her desk, she has to now decide. She considers her situation and the impact of this new knowledge- that the life of a man that she hates enough to want dead is now in her hands. Will she use her fleeting position of absolute power to prevent the headmaster from getting a bed, thereby avenging her son? Or does she resist that temptation and respond to the call of duty?

"Set against the premise of the lockdowns announced by the government to curb the wildfire-spread of the brutal second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in India, Teen Tigaada is an illustration of how these sudden lockdowns hit the working class and the migrant labourers disproportionately hard. At the same time, the story of the film also pays homage to the defiant fortitude with which so many working class men and women have stayed afloat through the crisis. Teen Tigaadaa tracks Chandan, Ajeeth and Dimple, three crooks of contrasting temperaments, who have been tasked with carrying out a loot, and are expecting a grand compensation out of the job. The film begins as they arrive, with the loot, at an abandoned mill, where they are supposed to wait until the loot is picked up, and they are compensated. Even though they expect the loot to be picked up within the next day, life has other plans laid out for them. The very next day, a state-wide lockdown is announced, leaving them helpless, anxious, and entirely to their own devices. Over the next few days, as Murlidhar - the man who set them up to the job - keeps promising to get them out of the situation, the men are left to live out the endlessness of their days, protracted even worse in the abandoned space, and to face the anxieties from their past and their future converging into their unsure present. In the mean while, the three of them also learn to navigate the difference of their personalities, while learning to coexist. "

Unpaused: Naya Safar - Gond Ke Laddu - Inhaltsangabe:

Mrs Sushila Tripathi (55), self-dependent, widow living in the small town of Agra, UP is anxious about the special “Gond ke Laddu’ that she must have her only daughter Ritu, living in Delhi,eat as she has just delivered a baby girl. With the ongoing pandemic, Ritu doesn’t feel it safe for her mother to travel but Sushilaji cannot miss out sending Ritu homemade laddus, with special ingredients. Sushilaji is old school and suspicious of the world that has gone digital in the pandemic. But when there is no other way out, she decides it’s time to get over her fear of online transactions and against odds and funny situations succeeds to book a courier. Finally, she prepares a box of Laddus with love and her parcel is duly picked. The charge of delivering the parcel to Ritu’s residence in Delhi comes on a self-righteous Rohan Sahota (26), who has just been pulled up by his boss for his poor performance and is warned to get a five-star rating or get fired. But Rohan cannot afford to lose a job in the pandemic, especially with a home loan in the wings, and must ensure a five-star rating. As he rushes through the day's schedule he meets with an accident. Rohan is unhurt but Sushilaji's parcel is crushed and the Laddus are smashed. Rohan notices a letter, handwritten by a mother to her daughter (Sushilaji to Ritu) and realizes that the parcel was special. He calls his wife Geeta, a call centre executive working from home, nervous that he will lose his job, a zesty Geeta proposes making laddus at home and to replace the parcel. Rohan dismisses the idea as they have no clue about the mother’s recipe and will never be able to match the taste. Geeta knows that the only way out is to find out the real recipe from Sushilaji. She stares at Sushilaji's contact number on the remains of the original parcel and thinks of an idea. A light hearted series of events unfold in this story of ‘human good’ and unexpected surprises.

Unpaused: Naya Safar - Vaikunth - Inhaltsangabe:

Vaikunth is a story of a few days in the life of Vikas Chavan, a frontline essential services worker at a cremation ground in small town Maharashtra, at the peak of the second wave of the pandemic in India. We see Vikas toil away from morning to night at the cremation ground as the bodies of unfortunate victims of the pandemic are brought in for cremation. He constantly endeavours to help give the limited family members present, a respectable funeral to their loved ones. Due to the nature of his work, exposure to Covid positive victims and the covid positive diagnosis of his own father, his landlord gives him an ultimatum to vacate the small one room shanty in which he and Avinash, his 9-year old son sleep. Vikas attempts to call several friends and family members to at least take Avinash in for a few days while he figures an alternate out but most of them are apprehensive owing to his line of work and risk associated with that. Left with no choice, Vikas vacates the room and takes Avinash to a makeshift tenement on the boundary walls of the cremation ground. We along with Avinash witness the arduous routine of cremating bodies that Vikas follows with his co-workers while at the same time trying in whatever way he can to get an update on his father’s condition at the hospital. He tries to visit the hospital and isn’t allowed entry due to the strict covid protocols, he calls and requests friends if they have any contacts in the hospital to get an update on his father’s health, but to no avail. Vikas attempts to keep up a brave front regarding Avinash’s questions about his grandfather and reassures him that all will be fine despite fearing the worst, as he knows how close Avinash is to his grandfather. The hours get more demanding as the pandemic worsens, Vikas attempts to balance his fatherly duties, Avinash initially overwhelmed begins to settle in, until news finally arrives from the hospital.
