Mumbai Diaries - Mumbai Diaries 26/11 - Inhaltsangabe:

Ten young men with large backpacks and guns get off a fishing boat and onto the coastline of Mumbai. They embrace and then separate, clearly on a mission. 26th November, 11 hours earlier. One of the most infamous days of Mumbai’s history began as any other as three new residents at Bombay General Hospital arrive there for their first day. Diya Parekh, Sujata Ajawale and Ahaan Mirza take it all in as they witness the state of a hospital, and the constant flurry of activity that comes with it. They have come to work under reputed trauma surgeon, Dr. Kaushik Oberoi. Sujata, particularly, has waited for this day ever since she started out. While they wait outside his cabin, they come across all the different people working there. We see the relationship between the nurses; Vidya, Anju and Samarth as they gossip about the new residents. Just then, Kaushik rushes in, wheeling a patient with him requiring an emergency tracheostomy. Due to the frequent short-comings of working in a system such as this one, Kaushik often finds himself having to do something beyond protocol to save a life. With the risks that come with the methods used by Kaushik, the CMO of BGH, Dr. Subramaniam often finds himself having to reprimand him for it, along with the inspector in-charge, Mayank Bhat. This time, however, will be one of the last few times, as the new residents, along with the rest of the hospital, find out that Kaushik will be leaving soon, in a bid to save his marriage with Ananya Ghosh. Chitra Das, social services director, amongst the ones saddened by this news. Just as the breaks the news to the residents, the attacks break out elsewhere in the city. Mansi, a young ambitious reporter, finds herself turning back to Leopold where she was just moments ago to get her story of the night that will take her to the top. The residents are thrown into the deep end on their first day as slowly, body after body, they witnesses the scale of the attacks.

Mumbai Diaries - Complications - Inhaltsangabe:

This episode deals with characters breaking down, in their own various ways. The attacks are underway and growing in intensity, and the arrival of one of their own in a gurney, signals the beginning of one of the darkest nights at Bombay General Hospital. We see people trying to connect with their loved ones as well as dealing with the overwhelming chaos at the hospital. Anxieties heighten, panic grows and emotions reach an all-time high as the attacks shake the very core of the characters. Dr. Subramaniam finds himself out of his depth, trying to manage the continuous flow of patients and their worried family members. Diya struggles to get in touch with her parents as symptoms of her depression threaten to overwhelm her. Ahaan deals with the consequences of messing up a procedure. Kaushik worries about Ananya, who works at the Palace Hotel and isn’t answering her phone, and Mansi desperately searches for a unique angle to cover the attacks. Meanwhile, Chitra helps Ahaan build up his confidence after the earlier incident. She asks his help in a lung biopsy on Paramjeet, trying to diagnose her. Paramjeet is a long-time patient at BGH, and everyone’s favourite, but her doctor in-charge, Dr. Romani doesn’t seem to think her symptoms stem from anything else than old age. Ananya, at the Palace Hotel, struggles to deal with the distressed and panicking guests as they find out about the terrorists. At BGH, while everyone is busy with the continuous patients, Sahil debates whether to confess a huge discovery to Kaushik. Elsewhere, Mansi reaches the Palace Hotel, trying to get something exclusive but finds countless reporters already there. After trying to get all the information she can from her sources, she reaches the Metro Cinema junction where the terrorists arrive in a hijacked car and open fire at the police and media gathered there.

Mumbai Diaries - Malignant - Inhaltsangabe:

The attacks start picking up momentum around the city, as the police force try to stop them. Mansi and Sachin have a close shave at the Metro Cinema, but manage to send their footage to Mallika who immediately runs it on air. In Delhi, the government react to the news reports showing the extent of the attacks in Mumbai. At the hospital, amongst the several bodies coming in, Mayank, injured at CST, is wheeled in. Chitra discovers that Dr. Romani hasn’t done any tests on Paramjeet despite being told to. Guilt starts to envelope Sahil as he tries to find the right moment to tell Kaushik what he’s inadvertently gone and done. While Kaushik struggles to get in touch with Ananya at the Palace Hotel, she handles a group of manic guests who now know how grim the situation in the hotel actually is. The terrorists enter one of the rooms and set mattresses on fire at the window, prompting increased activity amongst the reporters present outside. BGH erupts into chaos when Subramaniam informs Kaushik that the top policemen, ATS chief Kelkar and encounter specialist Savarkar are being brought to the hospital. Kaushik and his team immediately begin preparing the ER. This episode also deals with the prejudices inherent in Indian society, and how that affects the inner workings of the hospital. Mayank, who was brought in grievously injured, lashes out unnecessarily. Samarth, grief-stricken over the death of Anju, blames Ahaan for screwing up the procedure. When the two policemen finally arrive, two captured terrorists arrive with them. One of them is critically injured. While the team try and save the two policemen, the injured terrorist is running out of time. Kaushik faces a moral conflict as he has to decide whether to save him or let him die.

Mumbai Diaries - Anatomy - Inhaltsangabe:

Chitra notices Ahaan struggling after Anju’s death. She tries to talk to him about it. He ends up confiding in her about his past and why he chose to become a doctor. As Paramjeet’s condition worsens, Chitra manages to diagnose her just in time. The entrance of the hospital is now littered with reporters, who came when the policemen and the terrorists were brought in. Mansi, amongst them. She tries to get some new information from Samarth, but he refuses to help her, still devastated after Anju’s death. This frustrates Mansi as she hits a roadblock in getting the breaking story of the night. A news report plays in the hospital, revealing that there has been a blast at Palace hotel. People in the hospital react. Diya is shattered. She lashes out at Kaushik for saving Faizal. She tells him about the blast at Palace Hotel. Kaushik borrows Sahil’s phone and finds texts that Sahil sent to Ananya which reveal the information Sahil had been pondering over. Kaushik is furious with him. Sahil tries to talk to Kaushik, but he is in no mood to talk to him and blatantly ignores his explanations. Samarth hands Anju’s body to Jacob, her husband. He thinks for a moment, then decides to call Mansi and give her news about the death of the super cops. An ecstatic Mansi informs Mallika but Mallika tells her she needs proof before she can run it. Mansi tries to get proof but Samarth doesn’t comply. While she decides what to do, News 24/7 goes live with the news of the death of Kelkar and Savarkar, infuriating Mansi. She knows she could’ve been first to break it. Getting increasingly desperate, Mansi decides to resort to drastic measures to get into the hospital.

Mumbai Diaries - Side-effects - Inhaltsangabe:

Mansi wakes up in a daze as Sachin and a few others rush towards the car to help her out. At the entrance of the hospital, Mansi’s efforts almost go in vain as the nurse informs them she can’t take Mansi in. Eventually, Mansi manages to convince them she needs extra help and is wheeled into the General Ward. At the Palace hotel, as the sounds of gunshots start to get closer, Ananya decides to start evacuating the guests in small groups. Once she finishes evacuating one group, she goes back into the terror to evacuate the next, despite protests from her team outside. Tensions rise in the hospital as the night carries on. Sahil confronts Kaushik in the bathroom. They come to blows, but finally, things get resolved between them. After being unable to save ATS chief Kelkar but managing to save Faizal, Kaushik now has to deal with the repercussions, especially with the anger of Mrs. Kelkar. Mansi, using Paramjeet, goes around the hospital, her eyes prying for the big story. Soon enough, she finds herself witnessing Mrs. Kelkar confronting Kaushik and immediately informs Mallika. Samarth finds her inside the hospital, shocked at how far she’s willing to come. Before he can say anything, she blackmails him and gets some more information out of him. Every piece of information she has points to the ER mishap involving Kaushik, and so, the same is reported by News Today live, including many of his other infractions. The entire hospital is shell-shocked at the allegations being thrown at Kaushik. Tawde is livid and Subramaniam does not know how the information is being leaked. They must deal with this before more sensitive news gets out.

Mumbai Diaries - Relapse - Inhaltsangabe:

An already tumultuous night takes a dark turn as two terrorists force themselves into the hospital, causing all the destruction they can on their way. All around the hospital, people react to the gunshots and start panicking. The sounds they had been hearing all night on the news channels now seem urgently close. Kaushik, Sahil and Romani try to manage the panic in the ER. Tawde is in the midst of interrogating Saqib when he hears the gunfire. He and his team immediately secure Saqib in another room and regroup to figure out what was happening. Diya finds herself inside Kaushik’s cabin, trying to contact her parents. Sujata and Ahaan hear the gunfire in the ICU. Ahaan leaves to investigate. The two terrorists, Iqbal and Shakeel, continue to shoot at anyone and everyone until they stop and demand the location of the other two terrorists from a terrified Mrs. Cherian. Kaushik and Subramaniam decide that they cannot just sit and wait, they need to start evacuating the patients. Samarth and Vidya, who now know Mansi’s involvement in leaking news and potentially attracting the terrorists to the hospital, lash out at her and blame her for all the lives lost. Paramjeet makes Samarth understand the importance of forgiveness. Kaushik, Sahil, Subramaniam and Chitra begin evacuating patients. Chitra goes to check whether anyone got left out in the neonatal and pediatric wards but instead, comes to face-to-face with the terrorists. Ahaan, Tawde and his team watch helplessly as they use her and regroup with their brothers inside the diagnostic centre.

Mumbai Diaries - Remission - Inhaltsangabe:

In the chaos that followed after the terrorists got to Chitra, Paramjeet got shot in the crossfire. Vidya, Samarth and Ahaan immediately wheel her into the General Ward. Vidya confronts Mansi for her irresponsible reporting and blames her for Paramjeet being shot. Chitra is panicking inside the diagnostic center with the terrorists. They check on their ammunition and wonder what to do next. While they plan, Chitra is thrown inside a small cupboard. As a result, her past fears resurface and threaten to derail her. Tawde and his team wait outside the room, deciding their next move. ACP Deshmukh arrives at the hospital and asks to take over things but Tawde tells him his men need to see this through the end. The damage caused by the incessant firing and grenades finally takes hold as a beam falls onto Kaushik and Diya in the locker room. Diya manages to wriggle out but Kaushik’s legs are badly jammed beneath the beam. Despite her mind being occupied with deep worry for her parents, Diya pulls it together to make sure Kaushik’s injuries don’t worsen by trying to keep him conscious. She confesses her actions that caused her to get expelled from university. Using Mansi’s help, Diya manages to get Kaushik out of there. Samarth finds him and Sahil and both of them immediately rush to save Paramjeet’s life. After a complicated and highly risky surgery, they manage to stabilize her and save her for now. Kaushik goes up to Diya and lets her know that she has nothing to be ashamed about, depression is an illness like any other, and must be treated, not hidden away. The terrorists realize they must retrieve their detonator from the ICU so they finally need to come out of the diagnostic center and face the several policemen waiting on the other side of the door.

Mumbai Diaries - Recovery - Inhaltsangabe:

While the terrorists at the hospital decide to come out and make their move, the ones at the Palace hotel continue their terror. Ananya, having escorted another group of guests out, has the last group left. The NSG have taken over but they still need help from someone who knows the geography of the hotel. Ananya offers to help them. Rudro tries to dissuade her, but she insists. In the comfort of his flat, the handler watches the NSG outside the Palace Hotel. He relays information to his men. The terrorists inside trigger the explosives planted all over the hotel. The head of NSG reacts to the explosions. He demands to know how they are always one step ahead of them. Rudro points out that the media is constantly reporting their every movement. Ananya comes up to the group of guests and outlines the situation. Pranabh tells her that he trusts her to make the right decision. Ananya decides to evacuate them using the restaurant on the first floor that faces the front. Using the cherry-picker, the firemen start to help them out of the window. Just then, one of the terrorists barges into the room and opens fire. Back at the hospital, realizing that the terrorists don’t have the detonator for the bomb-jacket they have put on Chitra, Tawde opens fire at them. Chitra drops to the floor as a bullet hits her right in the center of the jacket. Ahaan immediately jumps to her rescue. The siege finally comes to an end as the terrorists are caught. The hospital staff walk out of the front entrance and receive and rousing applause from the people gathered outside. Guilt takes over Mansi as she realizes how much she may have contributed to the horrifying night. She puts all of her emotion into a blog-post but then changes her mind and deletes it when she’s made the youngest news anchor at News Today. Over the next two days, Mumbai faces the attacks head on and comes out of it, stronger. Life goes on, as ever, in this bustling city, while also at BGH.
