Lov3 - LOV3 - Season 1 - Inhaltsangabe:

After eight years together, Ana ends her marriage to Artur and decides to quit her job as a restaurant cook. She doesn't know what she wants, except change. And change does come when Baby, with whom Ana always had a rocky relationship, announces her divorce from Fausto, her husband of thirty years. Affected by the sudden news and trying to prove that she is not like her mother, Ana proposes a deal to Artur: an open relationship. After all, she still loves her husband… But is that really the best choice in her search for freedom? Sofia is used to being the center of attention — and her twin, Beto, always lived in her orbit. But now that they are apart, she wants to prove to her brother (and to herself) that she can build a healthy relationship with other people. When she meets Isa, Matheus and Joaquim, Sofia sees the throuple as a group of people who look like her, who run away from labels and boredom. Enticed by the possibility of joining this harmonious relationship (worlds away from her family), she decides to offer them her spare room, left behind by her brother. Now, all she must do is prove that she indeed knows how to live with other people… And that she can make rent. Beto, after a frustrating sexual encounter with a “Curious Straight” in a supermarket restroom, decides he needs a place of his own, where he can bring his suitors and finally develop a deeper relationship, something that stealthy, lighting flings don’t allow. But how will he find someone to share a home with when, for his entire life, the only person he ever opened up to was his twin sister, Sofia? Hell bent on proving to her that he is also capable of building his own relationships and having a social life, Beto decides to move in with Luís, a recently divorced gay man he met on an app. It’s a recipe for disaster. Confronted with the implosion of their family after Baby’s sudden departure, each of the siblings must prove that they can carry the burden of their new choices.

Ana seems happy with her decision and discusses the limits of her new agreement with Artur. But her first challenge at her job turns up the heat: is kissing a guy from work after hours breaking the rules? Ana yearns for more freedom, especially when Artur seems to not respect her boundaries as much as he could. Sofia couldn’t be happier with her new housemates… That is until the throuple starts tearing the place apart, clearing away any vestige of the family that once lived there (Sofia’s family). It would be easier to just tell the truth, but Sofia only knows the path of chaos. Trying to maintain her cool appearance and avoiding any conflict with her new friends, she hides the truth about the house and about her difficult personality. Contrary to what her brother thinks, she can live a chill life along with her housemates… All she needs is to figure out how. Beto tries hard to prove that he’s living in a new era… Only to end up facing an old issue: he has no place of his own. Luis doesn’t allow him to bring his weird crushes upstairs… Being independent doesn’t seem so freeing after all… By letting other people make ALL decisions for him, Beto ends up on a terrible date and needs his sisters to help him. Shit! The siblings finally realize that the challenge they set out to conquer is much greater than they had imagined. But it all works out in the end… right?

Ana and Artur handle the new relationship model well and are enjoying their renewed personal space. Everything is great with Ana… Until she bumps into Shion, a friend of her husband’s, and realizes that she is totally smitten with him. When the married couple established the ground rules — a few simple agreements — Ana thought that they meant just enough freedom… Until she comes face to face with the only rule she can’t break. She can’t hook up with Shion… But she also can’t resist him. F*ck!!! Trying to not betray herself, she decides to keep her affair with him a secret. Sofia is tired of feeling used by the throuple, unable to infiltrate the relationship… Or even having a say in her own home. She’s lost all control and reaches her breaking point when she must pay rent all alone. Quick on her feet, she decides to shift her strategy: divide and conquer. But her plans are foiled when the rift she creates in the throuple becomes a little too serious. She implodes the relationship between Isa, Matheus, and Joaquim, putting their coexistence at risk. Beto is about to welcome Curious Straight for a visit at ‘his’ place. A little too worried about meeting his lover’s expectations, Beto is unpleasantly surprised when he is the one who is left frustrated. Without any intimacy or care, it’s almost as if they never left the shadowy app world. Infuriated, he takes a stand for the first time, and is rendered speechless when Curious Straight invites him to his place. Once there, though, Beto will find out that his lover is a married, family man in the worst way possible, and now, he must keep a secret if he wants to maintain this relationship. What is done is done. No turning back. But how can you move forward knowing that choices have consequences and may hurt others?

Lov3 - Episode 4 - Inhaltsangabe:

Ana projected her ideal of freedom onto Shion. But with each passing moment, she feels more trapped by her own lies. When Artur invites his friend over for dinner, Ana feels pressured and can’t stop her issues with Shion from shedding light on her affair in front of everyone. There is something happening between them. Keeping her secret is impossible and Artur confronts her with the questions she most feared: Why did she ever get back with him… If all she did was break her own rules? The throuple is at war with one another… And amidst it all, Sofia, regretful. In a moment of pure anger, she explodes and criticizes her new friends’ selfish posture: they never even cared about her. Feeling guilty, the trio now wants to please her, and Sofia can’t pass on that opportunity. But once she realizes that the throuple’s relationship is damaged, and that this is the only thing they have left, she comes clean about her role in the crisis and promises honesty… or something like that. It looks like Beto has lost his grip on the situation: masquerading as the math tutor for his lover’s son. For this chaos to be worth it, this fling must become something more serious. Does Curious Straight actually care for him? Trying to make Curious Straight take responsibility for his feelings, the young man ends up in the most shameful situations, until he reaches a breaking point. He needs to value himself… Or maybe just go back to Sofia’s world. Damn. It’s time to grow up and not risk what truly matters for each of them.

Unable to explain herself to Artur, Ana decides to search for the answer to her husband´s question far away from there, back at the root of all her problems… Baby. For the first time, Ana lets her guard down and create a connection with her mother — only to be surprised by the fact that Baby has her own problems to deal with. Is there room for a new mother-daughter relationship? Any progress is halted when Ana sees all the problems she was trying to run away from reflected in Baby. Are the two of them more similar than the daughter would like to believe? The meeting makes Ana realize that she must be honest with Artur. Sofia finally strikes a balance with the trio… Or that’s what they think. The truth is that Sofia hasn’t been fully honest and doesn’t even know if she can be. When Beto and Fausto, her dad, show up with their own problems, the last of the untold truths reemerge at full speed. In this clash of worlds, Sofia must prove to her twin that she has changed… But not even she can believe that. Beto has problems of his own. After looking for answers to his insecurities in his complete opposite, this new adult must come to grips with the fact that he ended up literally in the gutter. Has he failed miserably in his journey to prove his sister wrong and show that he can lead a healthy, independent life? The twins try to hide their issues from each other, but Sofia is the one who can see the mature connection Beto has built with Luís, his roommate. And Beto notices that Sofia is actually trying to be a less egocentric, more honest person. With a new understanding of themselves, Ana, Sofia, and Beto, must catch their breath, go ahead and finally take responsibility for the consequences of their actions.

Trying to do the right thing and save her relationship, Ana answers Artur’s questions and betrays herself. A line is crossed and suddenly, Ana realizes that she just might not want any of her commitments. Back with her siblings, she realizes it's alright to not be sure of what she wants… Sofia is finally a part of the trio… or rather, foursome. Score! But hell bent on being part of the group, she fails to notice a small hiccup: she’s not in love with the three of them… Just Isa. The two girls seem to have their own secret. But Sofia doesn’t have the guts to confess her feelings and ruin their relationship. However, when she joins her siblings to face Baby and Fausto, she realizes that she can no longer escape the truth. Something she never felt before. Beto’s greatest dream has come true in the shape of his worst nightmare. Curious Straight walked away from his family to be with him… Just as he realized that maybe it was time to move on and look for someone who values him. Not knowing what to do, Beto takes him in. But when he discovers his internal strength facing his parents alongside his sisters, the young man makes the decision to put himself first and look for something better. Something as good as him. Contrary to their parents’ belief, Ana, Sofia and Beto understand that some things do indeed change. They decide to move forward… Together. After all, they’re all that’s left now that all bridges have burned.
