In the winter of 2012, Widespread Panic brought their first ever all acoustic tour out west for three nights at The Fillmore in Denver, CO. On this opening Friday night the band embarks on their acoustic journey through the Rockies. The band wastes no time getting their fans acquainted to the new acoustic format with a first set full of favorites old and new. In the second set classics like Holden Oversoul, Party at Your Mama's House and Pickin' Up the Pieces stretch out under the purple glow of The Fillmore's chandeliers. Before leaving, the band takes a turn toward the blues with takes on Good Morning Little Schoolgirl and Stop Breakin' Down Blues from "Sonny Boy" Williamson and Robert Johnson. Encore: Don't Be Denied, Up All Night, Chunk Of Coal. The filmmakers chose to archive this historic performance using RED Digital Cinema cameras, the same ones used for major motion picture releases. These cameras captured the performances in rich 4K resolution, providing the viewer with superior picture quality to 35mm. Specific lenses were chosen to best convey the artistic nature of the material. To achieve the true live concert sound, the audio was digitally recorded with a stereo mix combining the front of house mixing console with microphones placed throughout the room.
