The mexican drug lord Alonso Marroquin will be extradited to the US, but a mexican SWAT team, the DEA, the corrupt director of the prison and a rival cartel have other plans. During his escape, Marroquin reunites with his son who he had not seen in years. On the US side of the border, a scientist called Snowman and the Coronel Murdoch are leading a secret US Army experiment that has unexpected results. The SWAT team pursuing Marroquin and led by Becerril and Cruz, are attacked by mutant lab animals and transformed into a new enhanced zombie species with special abilities. Lilia, is a reporter covering Marroquin's story and she convinces him to give her an interview but she needs to avoid an assassin that is going after her. Taft, a DEA agent obsessed with Marroquin, recruits El Romeo, Marroquin's brother in law to help him find Marroquin before the mexican police. The zombie group expands as they keep attacking and infecting more people. Snowman convinces Murdoch to start experimenting with humans but the mission fails when several US soldiers get infected. The zombie army attacks Marroquin's hideaway and the apocalyptic battle for survival begins and old enemies must become allies. When US army arrives, Marroquin will have to achieve another impossible escape.Episode 1

Drug lord Alonso Marroquín is in a Mexican prison waiting to be extradited to the US. An elite unit from the Mexican Police under the command of Lieutenant Becerril is in charge of moving Marroquín, but he still has an ace up his sleeve. Across the border, DEA agent Taft is prepared to pick up the prisoner, but he knows that Marroquín must be eliminated. On a US Army military base, Snowman, an immoral scientist, is experimenting with a formula to make soldiers more aggressive and immune to pain, but his serum seems to be killing the lab’s mini pigs. Afraid that the negative results of their experiment coming to light, the commander of the base, Colonel Murdoch, orders that the dead pigs be dumped illegally in the desert, unaware that the pigs have turned into bloodthirsty zombies. Marroquín calls his cousin, Dr. Dávila, director of an upscale rehab center on the American side of the border, and Dávila assures him that “everything is ready” for his arrival. Journalist Lilia Acal gets furious when Contreras, the corrupt prison warden, calls off her interview with the drug lord, so sneaks in and makes her way to the cell block where Marroquín is being kept, but a hit man from a rival cartel gets there first. Marroquín survives the attack and, after killing the hit man, escapes through a tunnel in his cell. When the police officers discover the empty cell, Lilia broadcasts the news “live” to the world: Mexico’s most dangerous criminal has escaped. After eating the coyote, the zombie pigs enter an old pipeline that leads to an abandoned mine. Becerril discovers the narco’s escape route and readies his team for pursuit. Marroquín reunites with his men and his young son Lucas, whom he hasn’t seen in years and who hasn't forgiven him for leaving. The narcos have placed an explosive in the old mine to ensure their escape. Lilia is fired from the TV channel, but won’t give up on her plan of getting an interview with the fugitive. Taft decides to go after Marroquín himself in the hopes of finding him and killing him. The zombie pigs attack and infect the SWAT team, transforming them into a new species of stronger and more violent humanoids. In the secret American lab, Snowman discovers that his formula works and talks Murdoch into going to the desert and getting the dead pigs back. Murdoch orders Sergeant Valencia, his best soldier, to escort the scientist. The tunnel leads the narcos to the rehab center, where Dávila is waiting. Due to the explosion, the SWAT team has split into two groups. Becerril leads one group through the tunnels following Marroquín’s steps, and Cruz leads the second group through an air inlet in the mine that takes them to the surface.Episode 3

Cruz leads his zombie SWAT team to the north and they enter the US. Becerril and his zombie squad do the same, but through the tunnels. Snowman and Valencia manage to capture a zombie pig. On the military base, Private Thompson tries to pet an animal that’s under anesthesia, but the animal attacks him and infects him. Snowman is happy because now he has a “human subject” to experiment on. The leader of Marroquín’s rival cartel threatens to kill Contreras unless he helps him find the fugitive, and Contreras threatens to arrest Lilia unless she helps him. When Lilia finds out that Scar is following her, she uses her wits to lose him. Marroquín contacts her and agrees to give her an interview even though his right hand, Chainsaw, fears it might be a trap. In the rehab center, Dog teaches Lucas how to fire a gun, and one of Marroquín’s men, NoBalls, is a traitor. Taft cuts a deal with Romeo, the drug lord’s ex-partner and brother-in-law, who is now in a US prison and also dreams of getting his revenge on Marroquín. The soldiers are looking for the fugitive in the remote Mexican mountains, but thanks to Romeo, Taft realizes that the narco is probably hiding somewhere in the US. When he notices that his son is bored, Marroquín gives him a drone. The boy uses the drone’s camera to explore the hills nearby, but when the drone flies “out of reach,” he disobeys his father’s orders and leaves the rehab center to go after his lost drone. Near the border, a group of illegal immigrants are attacked by Cruz and her team of zombies. Up in the sky, the drone is too far away to capture any details, but Lucas is close enough to see that there's something strange going on, so he goes to the hills to investigate.Episode 4

Cruz and her group of zombies attack the terrified illegal immigrants. When confronted with a pregnant woman, Cruz seems to recover her human memories. NoBalls, the traitor, is about to send a carrier pigeon to The Prophet when Marroquín catches him. There’s a shootout and NoBalls is wounded, but escapes, so the other narcos start to hunt him down. NoBalls manages to elude them and returns to the tunnel from which they came, hoping to escape. Dog notices that Lucas has left the rehab center grounds and follows the boy to the hills. Later, Marroquín finds out that Dog and his son are missing and panics. Lucas finds his crashed drone, but is surprised by the coyote that has now been transformed into a deadly zombie. The coyote almost gets him, but Dog shoots it and rescues the boy. Lucas sees that the coyote is not dead and tries to warn Dog, but the zombie attacks the unsuspecting bodyguard and leaves him with a severe wound. The boy wants to stay with the wounded bodyguard, but Dog knows that something horrible is happening and forces Lucas to leave him. Lucas reunites with his father and convinces him that Dog is hurt and needs help, but when they go back, the bodyguard appears to be dead. Moments later, Dog, now a zombie, wakes up and attacks Lucas. Marroquín shoots the bodyguard several times, seemingly killing him. The narco is taken aback by the apparent treason of his loyal bodyguard and doesn’t believe Lucas when he says that Dog wasn’t really himself anymore. Marroquín and Lucas go back to the rehab center, but zombie Dog is still alive. In the tunnels, NoBalls has a mortal encounter with Becerril, the zombie leader.Episode 5

On the secret military base, Snowman’s experiments with the zombie soldier fail, and when Thompson frees himself, Valencia is forced to shoot him in order to save the scientist. Murdoch accepts getting more humans for Snowman’s experiment and sends Valencia and two other Rangers on a secret mission to hunt illegal immigrants. In the rehab center, Lucas tells his father he saw other “monsters” on the drone’s footage, so Marroquín orders Chainsaw to search the hills around the center. In a US airport, Dávila welcomes Lilia. When he discovers that Scar is following them, he ambushes the deadly agent and kills him. Neither of them realizes that Dávila’s van is broken and about to leave them stranded in the desert. Tension rises when Romeo remembers the incident in which Marroquín betrayed him to the DEA and finally realizes that Taft was the agent who arrested him. Near the border between the United States and Mexico, Valencia and her Rangers have a mortal encounter with zombies led by NoBalls, the traitor, who is now a zombie too. Almost at the rehab center, Father Humberto is ambushed by zombie Skinny, who kills the priest and almost kills Dávila too, but Lilia manages to shoot him. Marroquín is surprised when he sees that another one of his men has turned into a monster. Lilia realizes that her interview with the fugitive has turned into a more complicated story. How and why are his men turning into deadly monsters? Lucas shows Marroquín his sketches of the different zombies, the coyote, Dog and now Skinny, in the hopes of convincing his father that Dog is not a traitor, but that he’s ill with some sickness that turns humans into animals. Marroquín still plans to interrogate the zombie prisoner. Fearing that his father may kill Dog, Lucas tries to trigger the zombie’s human memories, but when Dog attacks him, Lucas is forced to kill him. While Marroquín comforts his son, they hear a helicopter nearby.Episode 8

Marroquín tries to protect his son, but when a zombie attacks, they get separated. Lucas must run for his life and another zombie is about to kill him when Lilia saves him. Marroquín discovers that Lilia has been recording with a secret phone, but he knows that now is not the time to deal with that. Finally, Marroquín realizes his son was right, these human monsters are not traitors, and that they are the result of a new and powerful drug. Chainsaw survives a zombie attack, but he’s seriously wounded and not able to walk. Taft and Romeo survive the helicopter crash and fight the zombies together, but things get complicated when Lucas recognizes Romeo as his lost uncle. Taft and Marroquín agree to a truce. When the rangers from the US Army arrive, Marroquín must escape one more time, and Lucas, Dávila, Romeo and Lilia go with him to the secret tunnel. Becerril tricks Murdoch by pretending to surrender, but then surprises Snowman when he announces that they are much smarter than humans. Using smoke bombs, zombies plot a brilliant escape to the hills. Marroquín is bitten and possibly infected, but he hides his wound from the rest of the group. Snowman finally gets to capture another zombie specimen.
