Angry and fed up with the notion that people have about Divendu Khurana, Mala Kumari sends out a post on social media, accusing him of sexually assaulting her. Divendu, a national award winning, reputed filmmaker of the country, pleads innocence and approaches the young rising lawyer, Deepak Rana, to defend him. Deepak, a partner at KKA, hires Neela Raghunandan, an aggressive female lawyer with a reputation, to represent Divendu alongside him. Mala is assigned the socially motivated lawyer, Kashaf Quaze, to represent her, as the Special public prosecutor. Kashaf takes up the case along with her friend and colleague, Vandana. Together, they run the law firm, "For The People Associates". College friends Deepak and Kashaf have their bouts in the courtroom and uncover facts about their clients that gives a grey tint to the infamous case.

Prateek Malhotra, a 19 year old student of a technology institute in Delhi, brutally stabs a cab driver. Despite it being an open and shut murder case, Kashaf decides to take it up because she wants to get Prateek a fair trial. Shubhangi Khanna, the 24-year-old granddaughter of LN Khanna, returns after completing her LLM at Harvard and joins KKA as one of Deepak's assistants. Shubhrat is against this decision. On her first meeting with Deepak, she finds herself attracted to him. On the other hand, after an awkward incident at Kitu's bar, Deepak tries to mend things with Kashaf. Kitu's father, Tejinder Bhalla, a liquor baron and owner of the multi million Bhalla Industries, coaxes Deepak to "handle things" in a case that has been pending against him for 15 years. Also because the Supreme Court judge hearing the case is Kashaf's father, Justice Munawwar Quaze, reputed for being a stern and honest judge. An SMS that would damage the reputation of Justice Quaze goes viral.

The people of Adegaon, a village in Maharashtra, stage a demonstration outside the factory of a multinational cola company in protest of it stealing their water and causing drought in the village. The protest turns violent and a villager is shot dead at the scene. The villagers demand that the factory be shut down. Deepak's client Bhalla coerces him to dig up information related to the viral SMS about Justice Quaze so that he can use it to his advantage and turn the case Quaze is presiding over in his favor. Deepak hires a private detective, Parvathy, to find out about the rumored CD that has bits of a damaging phone conversation. The company, Taisty Cola, hires Deepak as their defense, with Shubhangi working alongside him and Abhijeet assisting the two. Kashaf and Vandana take on the case on behalf of the residents of Adegaon with the help of a local, Madhav. Over the course of the court proceedings, Shubhangi becomes romantically involved with Deepak, while Abhijeet looks on enviously. Shubhrat sneaks into Deepak's cabin and finds the CD, which he hopes to use to damage Deepak's reputation at KKA.

Kashaf goes to Deepak to check if he had anything to do with the CD knowing that he's working on the Bhalla case. Lata Jha, CTO of a startup company named Spermaa, gets fired from the company on grounds of misconduct and behavioural issues. She decides to sue Raghu, the company's CEO and hires "For The People Associates" to represent her. Things heat up between Kashaf and Vandana when Vandana suggests a strategy for the case that's against Kashaf's principles. Deepak and Shubhrat's rivalry gets escalated when fingers are pointed at Deepak for being in possession of the Quaze phone call CD before it broke on the news channel. Kashaf finds a lead to discredit the news story about the 'Quaze phone call' with the help of an unusual source.

The company, EHNO, approaches KKA to defend them against 2 different charges that have been levelled against them. Deepak decides to hand the case over to Shubhangi with Abhijeet assisting her. Disliking the decision made by Deepak, Abhijeet acts out of jealousy and approaches Shubhrat with information about how the music copyright case was mishandled by Deepak as well as spreading rumours about Deepak and Kashaf getting romantically involved during the same case. Kashaf goes through a lot of emotional turmoil, first breaking down in front of Vandana and also confronting Mumtaz about a past incident that she can never forget and how it's created a permanent scar in her memory. Shubhrat takes his game plan forward carefully by revealing information about Deepak to LN Khanna, Shamsher and Dilraaj in the Bhalla case. Ria digs deeper in a village in Himachal (Kandbari) about the Bhalla case. She finds information that makes her realise that the Bhalla case is much more complex than it seems. Consequently, Bhalla gets a call from an old "friend". Shubhangi sees Deepak and Kashaf together which makes her feel that the rumours are true.

Ria Singh decides to expose Bhalla on the news channel, which would shock Bhalla and the people around him. Justice Quaze gives his final verdict on the Bhalla case. Kashaf decides to bury the demons from her past that were holding her back.
