The unknown years of Jesus ONLINE ANSCHAUEN: STREAMEN, LEIHEN ODER KAUFEN

Between Jesus’ childhood and the beginning of his mission, almost twenty years seem to escape history. This documentary tries to make a journey into the ‘silent years’ of Jesus, suspended between history and legend, between ancient texts written in Sanskrit, that tell of his possible travels in the East. Separated by a mountain range, two worlds face one another: the green valley of Kashmir and the lunar landscape of Ladakh, also known as “Little Tibet”. Further west lies a land in constant turmoil, where Hindu nationalism, thirst for independence and a highly resolute Islam stare each other down. In the East, in the impassive upper valley of the Indus river, Buddhism has found refuge from intransigence and atheism. Through obscure centuries marked by domination, fragments of a legendary story were passed down on either side of the mountains. They portray the key figure of Western civilization with unusual shades. The Messiah in search of Shambhala, the secret path of the soul and a place (a dimension) in which it is possible to live forever.
